Community

St Mary's is at the heart of the community of Abergavenny, both physically and spiritually. It is a place where people come to get married, bring their children to be baptized and say farewell to loved ones.

The church has many active groups, including a link with South Africa, through its twinning with the cathedral parish of St Dunstan's, Benoni.

Diocese of the Highveld

On November 19, 2003, Bishop Dominic Walker of Monmouth and Bishop David Beetge of The Highveld, in South Africa, signed an agreement linking the two diocese for five years.

St Dunstan's Cathedral

In 2007, St Mary’s with Christchurch established a companion link with the cathedral church of St Dunstan’s, Benoni, with St Mary Magdalene, Actonville, as part of the diocesan link with the Highveld.
